2012-06-01 - HERCA “Position Paper on Screening” in the framework of the exposure of asymptomatic individuals in healthcareOn the occasion of its 9th meeting held in Córdoba, Spain, on 31 May 2012, HERCA has approved a “Position Paper on Screening” in the framework of the exposure of asymptomatic individuals in healthcare.
The position paper proposes a clear distinction between screening and radiological procedures as part of an individual health assessment and highlights special requirements for the latter. The impact on the work of radiation protection authorities in Europe is also addressed.
