Medical | Addendum to HERCA position paper on CT dose optimisation
On 1st April 2015, HERCA organized a multi-stakeholder meeting on the dose optimization of CT scanners.
The objective of this meeting was to consider dose optimization for ensuring the best patient care by providing an optimized balance between image quality and dose. COCIR, ESR, EANM, EFRS and EFOMP have provided feedback on the HERCA position paper “The process of CT dose optimization through education and training and role of CT Manufacturers” issued in November 2014.
A second multi-stakeholder meeting will be organised on 10 March 2016 in Vienna, Austria (IAEA Headquarters). It will cover the optimised use of CT scanners, as a follow-up of the first meeting organised in Paris.
